In the next section of this Total Gym 1900 review, we will look at its pros then its cons.
Pros
- Compact
This particular model is more compact than a lot of other home gyms.
Able to be folded and stored between workouts, it would be an excellent option for people with limited space.
- Fast workouts
While longer sessions will bring faster results, you can get a very effective workout in 20 minutes or less with this machine.
- Ergonomic build
Ergonomically designed, this home gym provides comfortable and supportive sessions.
The bench slides back and forth smoothly, enabling a full range of motion.
It will stay firmly locked in place, even when you do exercises that focus on the abdominal muscles.
- Variety of exercises
0 different exercises can be done on the Total Gym 1900.
That is far more than you would be able to do using free weights, and you would need several machines to target all of the muscles this machine does.
Buying separate pieces of equipment would be costlier, and you would need a lot more space to house them.
It would also mean longer workouts, as you would have to move from one machine to the next.
- Variable resistance
A cable system provides 12 levels of calibration. This provides resistance of between 3 and 45% of the exerciser’s body weight.
- Strength training plus Cardio
This efficient home gym enables you to do cardio and strength training. This means you can get a total workout in one session.
- Pilates
Coming with a Pilates bar attachment, you will be able to do stretching exercises on the Total Gym 1900. This makes it particularly popular with females looking to develop a longer, leaner look and defined muscles.
- Assembly
Coming partially assembled, completing the job is easy and should take no longer than 30 minutes.
- Warranty
This model comes with a Limited 1 Year Warranty.
Cons
- No extra weight option
It’s not possible to add extra weight to this machine. For most people, this won’t be an issue. If, however, you are looking to build bulky muscles you will need a machine that accommodates heavier weights.
- Doesn’t fold flat
The Total Gym 1900 folds to a more compact size, but it doesn’t fold flat. This means you won’t be able to push it beneath a bed if its base is less than 9 inches above floor height. If yours is, you will need to store it against a wall or in a closet.
- Slow to fold
Folding the gym takes a bit of time, so it’s better to find somewhere to house it and leave it there.
